Trawden Bowls Club

You may have walked past without noticing us, tucked away at the top of Hollin Hall, or even wondered what that tranquil square of uneven turf is used for.

Well after the unprecedented times we have all had recently, Trawden Forest Bowling Club started to show the green shoots of development over the summer of 2021.

Dwindling membership numbers started to increase, in house competitions were re-instated and Sunday mornings became a hive of activity as members new and old, enjoyed this leisurely yet challenging sport of ours

There were visits from the local cubs and girl guides where taster sessions were offered and a number of first timers, after  nervously asking what the game was all about, were invited to take part in friendly games.

We are all excited about the 2022 season, when we hope to attract a few new members, hold an external competition inviting bowlers from other local clubs to participate and strengthen our links within the local community.
Crown green bowls is an inclusive sport which can be played by all ages and has no barriers in race, culture or physical condition.

On the competitive side, we will be represented by 2 teams in the Pendle and Burnley league on Monday evenings, the local doubles league on Tuesday evenings and (numbers dependant) are looking to join a Craven based league on Thursday evenings.
